Abstract

We would lik e to share our experience with our colleagues on a very important aspect. A 3% years
old boy w eighing 12 kg was referred from a paediatric unit for surgical opinion. He had a history o fbilious
vomiting and abdominal distention off and on for the last 2% years. H e w as treated for these com plaints by
different general practitioners and pediatricians for this length of tim e. Physical exam ination revealed
upper abdom inal distention w ith visib le peristalsis. Barium m eal & follow through exam ination revealed
partial obstruction at the level of low erjejunum with massively dilated proxim al intestine (Photograph -
